This morning I again find myself stunned; unable to determine which is worse, the rhetoric from the POTUS, the white nationalism which spawned that, the reaction of the white nationalists online to the POTUS’s tweets or the lack of reaction by the rest of us.
“The tweet was one of three sent from the president’s account, along with “LIBERATE MICHIGAN!” and “LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!”—NBC
“Trump’s tweets, however, pushed many online extremist communities to speculate whether the president was advocating for armed conflict, an event they’ve termed “the boogaloo,” for which many far-right activists have been gearing up and advocating since last year. There were sharp increases on Twitter in terms associated with conspiracies such as QAnon and the “boogaloo” term immediately following the president’s tweets, according to the Network Contagion Research Institute, an independent nonprofit group of scientists and engineers that tracks and reports on misinformation and hate speech across social media. Posts about the “boogaloo” on Twitter skyrocketed in the hours after the president’s tweets, with more than 1,000 tweets featuring the term, some of which received hundreds of retweets.”–NBC
“We the people should open up America with civil disobedience and lots of BOOGALOO. Who’s with me?” one QAnon conspiracy theorist on Twitter with over 50,000 followers asked. “Boogaloo” is a term used by extremists to refer to armed insurrection, a shortened version of “Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo,” which was coined on the extremist message board 4chan.”—NBC
“Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington condemned Trump’s tweets in his own Twitter thread in which he warned the president about encouraging violence. “The president is fomenting domestic rebellion and spreading lies – even while his own administration says the virus is real, it is deadly and we have a long way to go before restrictions can be lifted,” Inslee wrote.”—NBC
The president’s tweets came just minutes after Fox News aired a segment featuring coverage of a Facebook event called “Liberate Minnesota.” Although only a few hundred people expressed interest in the event on Facebook, local news sites and conservative blogs drove attention to the event Thursday, one day before the president’s tweets.
“Minnesota citizens now is the time to demand Governor Walz and our state legislators end this lock down!” the event’s Facebook page reads. “Thousands of lives are being destroyed right now. It is not the governor’s place to restrict free movement of Minnesota citizens! Gov. Walz you work for the citizens of this state!”
A few hundred protesters had gathered outside Gov. Tim Walz’s residence in St. Paul, Minnesota, by Friday afternoon, packed in tight crowds along the sidewalk. They chanted “USA” and carried signs with pro-Trump, anti-Walz messaging.
One sign read, “If ballots don’t free us bullets will.”
ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!
Screams my brain. WARNING! This is a textbook example of divide and conquer, our POTUS is setting one side of America against the other during a pandemic. Think about that, why would any POTUS warn a part of America that their 2nd Amendment rights were at risk because of a virus which does not affect the 2nd amendment at all? Medical protocols dictate we distance ourselves, that very distancing is what shifted the model numbers from 2.2 Million or more dead all the way down to 60,000, that is one hell of a drop.
Now you want to disregard the medical advice and encourage the radical right to go to arms to force governors to follow your idea? Do you value the economy more than the people, or the people more than the economy? Do you understand you cannot have any economy without healthy people? How does any of this impact anyone’s 2nd amendment rights? Is that warning a call to arms as the radical right thinks? Is that the POTUS threatening the Governor personally, with war and insurrection in his state? Is it a dog whistle to the radical right?
Why does this seem ignored?
Liberate 1. Set (someone) free from a situation, especially imprisonment or slavery, in which their liberty is severely restricted.
A Stay at home order does not equate to imprisonment or slavery, nor are your liberties restricted. They are temporarily suspended to halt the spread of a deadly virus. You liberate others from oppression, no American is being oppressed by coronavirus measures; we are much inconvenienced.
Liberation: 1. the act of setting someone free from imprisonment, slavery, or oppression.
None of our states need liberation Mr. President.
Thus our POTUS is encouraging his base to revolt against their governor, that is a divide and conquer technique, again, in the midst of a national health crisis and global pandemic. Donald Trump wants everything to be all over, for the worst to be past and life to become normal again, NOW! All his life he has used money and bullishness to get what he wants, but you cannot bully cancer, and you cannot bully C-19. While our POTUS is egging the radical right on we are having the equivalent one 9-11 event every day in America.
C-19 does not care what you think of it, it will strive to live and breed in us forever just like we strive to live and breathe on Earth ourselves. Trump seems to me to again be in another denial loop, this time about re-opening and being over the hump. I fear he sees the new model of 60,000 as set in stone. I doubt he understands that this new model is based on strict social distancing with stay at home orders nationwide until June. If you lift restrictions as he desires, you throw that model out the window, nor would we revert to the old model of 2.2 million (100-200 thousands with mitigations), but we would need a new model based upon the new blooms which will erupt.
I much prefer my Governor.
On Friday Maine Gov. Janet Mills issued a response to the President’s guidelines:
“We all want life to return to normal as soon as it is safe to do so. Our hearts break to see closed storefronts and people struggling to make ends meet because of this crisis. At the same time, we all know that reopening too soon and too aggressively will likely cause a secondary surge in COVID 19 cases, jeopardizing the lives of Maine people and further destabilizing the economy. None of us want that. I have been speaking with a number of economic leaders, including the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Their message is clear: the most important thing we can do to turn the economy around is to defeat the virus.” Although I do admit to the shiver of dread my mind had when contemplating how our previous Governor, LePage, would have handled this, very glad he is out.

Look at this, “US crude to 18-year low as supply overwhelms demand”, that means we (the non-oil stock holders) can keep the gas cheap by simply driving a lot less, supply then overwhelms demand and the price comes back down. Interesting economics eh, but do you think our population will decide it’s worth it or say “CHEAP GAS! ROAD TRIP!”?
I am sure that today Trump will say he is not encouraging insurrection, but what other meaning can he have for bringing up the 2nd amendment other than to instigate and terrorize that state, or that states governor? Time to go do the afternoon round up of headlines.

A wee bit o math on infections as Trump yesterday said we are doing the best, better than all the euopean nations. That is Bullshit.
1st place USA 732,197
2nd Place Spain 191,726
3rd place Italy 175,925 +191,726=367,651
4th place France 149,149 +367,651=516,800
5th place Germany 143,342 +516,800=660,142
6th place UK 115,314 +660,142=775,456
So the USA, so far, is roughly equal to the next five nations in total. Let’s adjust for population, because we are bigger right?
Spain 47 Million
Italy 60.32 Million
France 67,02 million
Germany 83.15 Million
UK 67.55 Million
Total population = 325.04 Million, compared to our 328 million, we are more or less the same via population. No one is doing any better than anyone else and this is still ongoing, like calling the leader in a race, they might be leading today, but this race is likely 3 years long, and there is no guarantee the leader will remain leader.
