He asks ‘should we delay the election?’, something which has never been done, minutes after the worst quarterly economic report since WW2. Some GOP actually condemn it, most remain silent, the worst in his administration, both Barr and Pomeo, dodge and duck the question’ can a president postpone an election?.
It is writ in stone, in law over 140 years ago, because the Constitution demands Congress agree on a day and time, so they wrote that day and time into law then. To change it would require them changing it, and they won’t ever agree.
A POTUS cannot legally delay or postpone an election; that would be a coup de ta upon our democratic system.
Fauci stated today that vaccines are both hopeful and way ahead of previous developments of vaccines, a speed of development which gives me pause. His explanation is worth noting. The speed of development is because of several factors. Rapid early sequencing of the virus. Rapid development not contingent upon outlay costs. The advancement of AI computing and related technologies has also increased our speed of development.
We may actually have a viable vaccine for many of us come Xmass, it’s not a fever dream, it’s an actual possibility. Of course we would figure out exactly how good or not it was after the widespread use. We cannot wait for years of testing, so in a real way we will all be guinea pigs, but at least the science getting there did not cut corners.

“DHS officials used anti-terrorism system to gather ‘intelligence reports’ on journalists covering civil rights protests: report”
“On Thursday, The Washington Post reported that officials at the Department of Homeland Security used a system designed to collect intelligence on terrorists, to surveil journalists covering the civil rights protests and subsequent clashes with federal law enforcement in Portland, Oregon. “Over the past week, the department’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis has disseminated three Open Source Intelligence Reports to federal law enforcement agencies and others, summarizing tweets written by two journalists — a reporter for The New York Times and the editor in chief of the blog Lawfare — and noting they had published leaked, unclassified documents about DHS operations in Portland,” reported Shane Harris. “The intelligence reports, obtained by The Washington Post, include written descriptions and images of the tweets and the number of times they had been liked or retweeted by others.”
After The Post published a story online Thursday evening detailing the department’s practices, the acting homeland security secretary, Chad Wolf, ordered the intelligence office to stop collecting information on journalists and announced an investigation into the matter.”
